This smoking cessation is available for any adult who is ready to quit and wants some information and support. Nine group sessions are held in an eight-week period. There are two sessions in the third week. Each participant will choose a quit date which will occur by the end of the third week.
The cost for the class is $20.00. Group meeting will provide information on getting ready to quit, developing a quit plan, using nicotine replacement, handling withdrawal and cravings, managing stress without tobacco, preventing weight gain and preventing relapse.

Informational meeting describing cessation resources and options. The class is offered the 3rd Wednesday of every month from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Premier Recovery services. The program is FREE and is open to anyone interested in exploring cessation options.

Offer individual, group and corporate programs. Includes diagnostic testing, which is 90 minutes in length. Focus is on behavior modification. Extensive follow-up is included (unlimited, 12 month). Offered on an on-going basis. Mr. Sazma does the majority of the teaching, etc.
Cost is $102.00. Individuals can pay on a month-to-month basis. On-site corporate programs can be offered at a discounted rate. This program is also subject to partial or complete coverage by Medicaid.

This group is open to anyone interested in tobacco cessation and will help participants with strategies and recommendations designed to help them quit. There will also be group support to help members cope with potential urges to use tobacco.
The You Can Quit Group is offered FREE of charge every Monday from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. in the Cardiac Rehabilitation Education Room, located on the first floor of Saint Michael’s Hospital.

Rice Medical Center has trained staff available for tobacco cessation assessments, available with or without a referral from a primary care physician. This assessment and consultation will last approximately 30 minutes and will help participants create a personalized tobacco cessation plan.

This one-time program is offered to individuals who are considering tobacco cessation or who have a family member considering cessation. The program will provide participants with information to help them decide if quitting tobacco use is right for them.

All programs focus on the addiction and behaviors of tobacco use. Each program offers education discussion and support. Materials are provided. Follow-up phone calls and visits are offered at no additional charge after a program is completed. A family member of friend may attend the program with you.
Options:
1) TIP: Tobacco Intervention Program—Five sessions, usually once per week; offered as a phone program, a group or individual program; topics include preparing to quit, behavior-habits-addiction, stress management, healthy living, and remaining tobacco free.
2) Single session for education/counseling-One hour program; general review of tobacco cessation and how to quit smoking; scheduled as Clinic appointment by referral from health care provider or self-referral.
3) Pregnancy/Expectant Family Program-One or five session program; individualized to focus on smoking during pregnancy, effects on infant and mother, and environmental smoke.

The program focus is peer support and encouragement and is derived from an American Lung association Program. Seven sessions of 1 ˝ hours each are conducted, and are held three timer per year. The cost is $60.00 which includes materials and refreshments. There is also 2 ˝ hours of one-on-one counseling available by making five 30 minute appointments, and the cost is $65.
