Traveling to Northern Virginia

If you are flying, Dulles Airport (IAD) is the way to go. You may find cheaper flights into Baltimore or Reagan-National, but we suggest you avoid those unless you are excited about adding several hours onto your trip. You will likely be stuck in traffic in a rental car or find yourself navigating several long transfers on the public transportation system. The wedding and all accommodations are much closer to the Dulles airport, and we want this experience to be pleasant for you!

Public transportation from Dulles is available. You can rent a Super Shuttle or take the more affordable $8 Washington Flyer bus to the West Falls Church metro on the Orange line. From there, you can take the metro just 2 stops to Vienna. Some hotels offer airport shuttles or metro shuttles. Other transportation options are also available. Amtrak trains operate out of Union Station, and Greyhound Buses operate out of the bus depot near Union Station. From Union Station, you can take the metro red line towards Shady Grove. At Metro Center, get off and go down the escalator to transfer to an Orange Line train towards Vienna. www.wmata.com

Getting to the Wedding

The Ceremony and Reception will be held outside the Hunter House in Nottoway Park, 9601 Courthouse Road, Vienna, Virginia

Taking the Metro to Nottoway Park: 

Take the orange line in the direction of Vienna. Exit Vienna-Fairfax-GMU, the last stop on the orange line. Metro information: www.wmata.com

Walking from Vienna Metro: It is a 10-15 minute walk to park. Exit the station to the north (left) and walk straight through the parking lot. The road you come to is Virginia Center Boulevard. Make a right and walk along this road till you come to the light at Nutley. Make a left onto Nutley. Walk several blocks till the light at Courthouse Road. Make a left onto Courthouse. Walk a few blocks to the park entrance. 

Taxi: Exit the station to the north (left). You will see the taxi stand directly in front of the metro station. The cab ride to the park should only cost a few dollars.

Bus/Shuttle from Vienna Metro: We may have a van shuttling folks from the Vienna metro to the wedding if enough people are traveling this way. Just send Toby or Shannon an email letting us know you are traveling by metro, and we will keep you up to date. 

Driving Directions to Nottoway Park:

From Dulles Airport: Take the Dulles Toll Road (267) east towards DC. Take exit 14, Hunter Mill Road/674. Turn right onto Hunter Mill Road. Turn left onto Vale Road. Travel 1 mile, turn right onto Flint Hill Road. Turn right onto Chain Bridge Road. Turn left onto Sutton Road. Immediate left onto Courthouse Road. 

From New York/Boston and points North on I-95: Take 95 south. When 95 splits, take exit 27 (I-495 West) to the right. Follow the directions from 495 below.

From points south on I-95: Follow 95 north. Take 495 W towards Tyson’s Corner via exit 170B.

From 495 (all directions): Exit onto I-66 W towards Manassas/Front Royal. Go approximately 3 miles. Take the Nutley Street/243 exit North. Turn left on Courthouse Road. Park entrance will be on the left.

Getting to Ken and Genie Williams' house

Driving Directions:

From Dulles Airport: Take the Dulles Toll Road (267) east towards DC. Take exit 12, Reston Parkway. Turn right onto the Reston Parkway. Drive through several lights. Turn left at Lawyer's road. Make an immediate right onto Fox Mill. Follow this several miles. Go straight for 3.4 miles. Make a right onto Bronzedale Drive. 11421 is 7th driveway on the left.

From New York/Boston and points North on I-95: Take 95 south. When 95 splits, take exit 27 (I-495 West) to the right. Follow the directions from 495 below.

From points south on I-95: Follow 95 north. Take 495 W towards Tyson’s Corner via exit 170B.

From 495 (all directions): Exit onto I-66 W towards Manassas/Front Royal.   Go 4.5 miles, take exit 60 onto 123 towards Vienna/Fairfax.    Take right ramp towards Vienna.  Left at 2^nd light onto Jermantown.  Right at 2^nd light onto Oakton.    Right/Straight at 1^st light onto Waples Mill.   Right at 1^st light onto Fox Mill. About 1 miles, turn left at first street – Bronzedale Drive. 11421 is 7th driveway on the left.
